This 10-day circuit is a classic introduction to Morocco’s diverse landscapes and rich culture. The journey begins immediately in vibrant Marrakech before crossing the High Atlas Mountains to explore ancient kasbahs and dramatic desert scenery. You’ll spend a magical night in a Sahara desert camp, witness breathtaking gorges and valleys, and then cross the Middle Atlas to explore the ancient, labyrinthine medina of Fes. The tour concludes with a return to the coast to see Casablanca’s modern marvel, the Hassan II Mosque, providing a perfect blend of adventure, history, and culture.
Your Moroccan adventure begins with a greeting at Casablanca Airport. Instead of lingering in the metropolis, we immediately embark on a scenic drive inland to the captivating “Red City” of Marrakech. After checking into your traditional riad within the ancient medina walls, your initiation begins as the sun sets. You’ll dive headfirst into the electrifying spectacle of Djemaa El-Fna square, a mesmerizing world of storytellers, aromatic food stalls, and captivating performers, offering a true taste of Morocco’s vibrant soul.
After breakfast, a knowledgeable local guide unlocks the secrets of Marrakech. Your journey through history includes the majestic Bahia Palace, the mysterious Saadian Tombs, and the iconic Koutoubia Mosque. The adventure continues as you plunge into the labyrinthine souks, a kaleidoscope of colors, crafts, and scents. The tour concludes back at Djemaa El-Fna, allowing you to witness its fascinating transformation from day to night.
We leave the city behind, ascending into the breathtaking High Atlas Mountains via the winding Tizi n’Tichka pass. Our first historical stop is the crumbling Kasbah of Telouet, a testament to the Glaoui dynasty’s power. Descending through a changing landscape, we follow the picturesque Ounila Valley to the legendary Ksar of Ait Benhaddou. You’ll explore this UNESCO World Heritage site, a backdrop for countless films, before continuing to Ouarzazate, the gateway to the desert.
Today’s journey is a scenic route along the “Road of a Thousand Kasbahs.” We explore the serene Skoura Oasis, visiting the beautifully preserved Kasbah Amridil. The route then leads us through Kelaa M’Gouna, the heart of the fragrant Valley of Roses. The landscape becomes increasingly dramatic as we enter the stunning Dades Valley, famous for its surreal “monkey fingers” rock formations, where you’ll spend the night.
After breakfast, we venture to the colossal Todra Gorge. Here, you can walk alongside a river, dwarfed by towering canyon walls that soar 300 meters high—a paradise for climbers and photographers. We then journey deeper south, passing through the fossil-rich town of Erfoud, before reaching the golden dunes of Merzouga. Here, you’ll trade the vehicle for a camel for a serene trek into the Erg Chebbi dunes to witness a breathtaking desert sunset. Your night is spent in a comfortable desert camp, enjoying traditional food and Berber music under a blanket of stars.
Awake early to experience the unforgettable magic of a sunrise over the Sahara, painting the dunes in brilliant hues. After a camel ride back to the edge of the desert, you’ll have breakfast and freshen up. Our journey then turns north, traveling through the immense Ziz Valley—a stunning oasis of palm groves. Our destination is the quiet town of Midelt, nestled in the apple-rich foothills of the Middle Atlas mountains, where we will spend the night.
Departing Midelt, we cross the Middle Atlas Mountains. A key highlight is a stop in the Cedar Forest near Azrou, where you can observe troops of playful Barbary macaques in the wild. We also pass through Ifrane, a charming town known as “Morocco’s Switzerland” for its unique alpine architecture. By afternoon, we arrive in the ancient imperial city of Fes and check into your accommodation.
Today is dedicated to exploring Fes, Morocco’s spiritual and cultural capital. With a expert local guide, you will navigate the UNESCO-listed Fes el-Bali medina, a living museum. Discover the famous Chouara Tannery (viewed from a terrace), the intricate Bou Inania Medersa, and the vibrant souks. You’ll also see the Royal Palace gates and the historic Mellah (Jewish Quarter). The afternoon offers free time to further lose yourself in the medina’s enchanting, maze-like streets.
After breakfast, we depart Fes and drive west back to the Atlantic coast and the bustling economic hub of Casablanca. Upon arrival, you will visit the crowning architectural achievement of Morocco: the Hassan II Mosque. Marvel at its incredible detail and stunning oceanfront location. The rest of the day is yours for last-minute exploration or souvenir shopping along the Corniche before your final night.
Enjoy a final Moroccan breakfast at your hotel. At the appointed time, you will be transferred to Mohammed V Airport for your departure flight, filled with memories of an incredible journey from the Sahara sands to the imperial cities.
